Preserve it, and be able to show it.

KUP preserves, finds and proves the integrity of the school's documents. Here is how.

  • The original never changes. It is kept bit for bit.
  • A fingerprint on arrival. It is computed once, when the document arrives.
  • Every read is logged.View, preview, download, print, export.

The original comes first

Text read by character recognition, the straightened version, the thumbnail or the watermark are extra representations. They never rewrite the original.

The fingerprint

When the document arrives, KUP computes its SHA-256 fingerprint. A mismatch later is an incident to investigate. The fingerprint is never recomputed to make it go away.

The log and the attestation

The audit log is sealed. KUP can issue an integrity attestation for a document.

Disposal

Nothing is erased: documents are disposed of by a logged action, with a disposal slip. The metadata record outlives the file.

What KUP does not do

KUP does not replace a public officer.
